Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Welcome to TeaCat. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. What TeaCat Is

TeaCat is a platform that helps people discover nightlife and events based on their taste. It is designed to feel intuitive, social, and fun — closer to a social experience than a traditional ticketing site. TeaCat is committed to hosts keeping 100% of their base ticket sales and to keeping buyer fees low.

TeaCat is not an event organizer — we are a technology platform that connects event hosts with attendees and facilitates ticket sales between them.

2. Accounts

Accounts are created via email verification only — a one-time code sent to your email address. No password or phone number is required at this time; phone-based verification may be introduced in the future as an optional convenience, but will not be required to use TeaCat. You may optionally add an Instagram handle to your profile, which will be displayed publicly if you choose to add it. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be 18 or older to use TeaCat.

3. Tickets and QR Codes

Each ticket purchase generates a unique QR code sent to your email. QR codes are single-use and non-transferable. TeaCat is not responsible for lost, stolen, or screenshot-shared QR codes used fraudulently.

4. Fees and Paid Services

TeaCat charges a flat $2 buyer fee per ticket at checkout. This fee is non-refundable. Hosts keep 100% of their base ticket revenue. TeaCat does not take a percentage of ticket sales.

TeaCat also offers optional paid services for hosts: Event Boost (a paid promotional placement that features an event at the top of the feed for a fixed duration) and Host Pro (a recurring subscription with additional hosting features). Prices are shown at the point of purchase. Both are governed by our Refund Policy: Boost purchases are non-refundable once activated, and Host Pro subscriptions may be cancelled at any time to stop future billing, with no partial-month refunds.

Hosts are solely responsible for their own tax obligations, including reporting and paying any taxes owed on earnings received through the platform.

5. Host Responsibilities

Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their event listings including date, time, location, and capacity. Hosts who cancel events are responsible for issuing refunds to buyers via the TeaCat platform.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use TeaCat to list or purchase tickets for illegal events, resell tickets above face value, create fake events or accounts, or engage in any fraudulent activity. Violations may result in account termination and referral to law enforcement.

7. Crews

Crews are member groups where people share and react to event recommendations. Crews are visible to other users by default and can be set to private by their owner. Each member is responsible for the recommendations, messages, and other content they post within a crew. TeaCat may remove content, individual members, or entire crews that violate these Terms or our community guidelines, including content that is harassing, hateful, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful.

8. Limitation of Liability

TeaCat is a platform — we are not liable for the conduct of hosts or attendees, the quality or safety of events, or any damages arising from your use of the platform. Your use of TeaCat is at your own risk.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of TeaCat after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
